September 2018. Ziel war nicht nur der Aufstieg auf den h\u00f6chsten Berg des Orients. Gemeinsam mit Freunden brach ich zu einer Hochtour auf, an die sich eine Reise durch das Land zwischen Persischem Golf und Kaspischem Meer anschlie\u00dfen sollte. Ich wollte Landschaft, Kultur und die Spuren des einstigen persischen Gro\u00dfreiches intensiver erleben.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\"><br><\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">\n<\/p><p class=\"bodytext\"><strong>H\u00f6henrekord<\/strong><br>Der Iran ist von mehreren gro\u00dfen Gebirgen gepr\u00e4gt. Hohe Gipfel und eine weitgehend intakte<br>Tierwelt machen das Land besonders reizvoll. Mit etwas Gl\u00fcck begegnet man B\u00e4ren, Leoparden oder Steinb\u00f6cken. Gleichzeitig bieten die Berge ideale Bedingungen zur Akklimatisation.<br>Auf verschiedenen Mehrtagestouren zu Viertausendern hatten wir unser eigentliches Ziel immer im Blick \u2013 den Damavand. Sein markanter Vulkankegel ragt weithin sichtbar in den Himmel. Der Berg beeindruckt vor allem durch seinen enormen H\u00f6henunterschied von etwa 4700 Metern zwischen seinem Fu\u00df und dem Gipfel. Damit k\u00f6nnte er auch als h\u00f6chster Berg der Welt gelten.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">\n<\/p><p class=\"bodytext\">Bevor wir uns an den Aufstieg machten, legten wir eine Pause am Kaspischen Meer ein. Das gr\u00f6\u00dfte Binnengew\u00e4sser der Erde bot angenehme Wassertemperaturen und eine ruhige Atmosph\u00e4re abseits des Touristenstromes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\"><br><\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\"><b>Rauchender, dampfender Berg<br><\/b>So l\u00e4sst sich der Name Damavand aus dem Persischen \u00fcbersetzen. Im \u00f6stlichen Teil des Alborz-<br>Gebirges begann schlie\u00dflich unser Aufstieg \u00fcber eine technisch wenig anspruchsvolle Route.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">Gut an die H\u00f6he angepasst starteten wir von der S\u00fcdseite an der Saheb-al-Sahman-Moschee auf<br>3020 Metern. Eine Zwischen\u00fcbernachtung in der Bergh\u00fctte Bargah-e Sevom auf 4200 Metern<br>machte den weiteren Aufstieg deutlich angenehmer. Bei Temperaturen unter dem Gefrierpunkt f\u00fchrte der Weg \u00fcber schmale Pfade und durch raue Gesteinslandschaften. Immer wieder lag der Geruch von schwefelhaltigen Gasen in der Luft. Nach zwei Tagen erreichten schlie\u00dflich alle Teilnehmer den Gipfel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\"><br><\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\"><b>Kulturgenuss Iran<br><\/b>Oft reise ich zu schnell weiter. Dieses Mal wollte ich mir bewusst mehr Zeit nehmen.<br>Unsere Route f\u00fchrte uns zun\u00e4chst in die \u00fcber 4000 Jahre alte Region um Shiraz. Dort bewegten wir uns auf den Spuren verschwundener Weltreiche mit seinen verschiedener Kulturen, die das Land einst pr\u00e4gten.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">Wir besuchten Pal\u00e4ste, Moscheen und die Mausoleen ber\u00fchmter persischer Dichter. Ebenso<br>eindrucksvoll waren die Einblicke in die j\u00fcngere Geschichte, etwa in das Leben der Schah-Dynastieder Pahlavis.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\"><br><\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">Ein weiterer H\u00f6hepunkt war Persepolis mit seinen gewaltigen Ruinen und den nahen Felsengr\u00e4bern der alten K\u00f6nige. Danach ging es weiter \u00fcber staubige Hochebenen nach Isfahan. Die gr\u00fcne Stadt ist eine Oase im trockenen Hochland und beeindruckte uns mit ihren Minaretten, t\u00fcrkisfarbenen Kuppeln, wasserf\u00fchrenden G\u00e4rten und pr\u00e4chtigen Bauwerken.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">Wir genossen das klare Wasser des Zagros-Gebirges, besuchten zahlreiche architektonisch<br>bedeutende Orte und lie\u00dfen uns durch Stra\u00dfen, H\u00f6fe und M\u00e4rkte von Qom treiben, um in den Alltag der Muslime im islamischen Staat einzutauchen.<\/p><p class=\"bodytext\">Ausgangspunkt unserer Reise war immer wieder Teheran. Die Stadt liegt an einer alten Handelsroute zwischen Mesopotamien und Zentralasien und ist bis heute ein Treffpunkt vieler Kulturen. Hier leben Menschen unterschiedlicher Herkunft zusammen, und genau diese Vielfalt pr\u00e4gt das Stadtbild.<br>Hier begann und endete schlie\u00dflich auch unsere Reise am 23.
